Beautiful Strength 3 an original 24x36 inch mixed media piece on gloss paper, created in 2022. Owned by a private collector, the original piece incorporates acrylic paint, permanent and paint marker. The pink hues bring awareness to the cause of breast cancer and symbolize solidarity, strength and hope for all those impacted by the disease. The black silhouette, including her natural hair, highlights the beauty of our blackness which is often ridiculed and dismissed as unattractive. The expressive piece also celebrates the richness of Black cultures, incorporating African Adinkra symbols, geometric shapes, solid black lines and impressions of graffiti to create a vibrant exhibition.
